At Nathan Krestul Park this morning I saw a nutria swim to the edge of some swampy land.  Then it dived, rather like a whale, and reappeared  about fifteen feet away near a stand of trees and walked off into the vegetation.  The most plentiful birds of the morning were White Ibis and Palm Warblers.  There were also several Red-Winged Blackbirds, a few Northern Cardinals, two Carolina Wrens, two Snowy Egrets, one Tricolored Heron, one Little Blue Heron, one Osprey, and this Great Egret:
