This morning I walked by the pond next to Stone House in the Bear Creek Greenbelt.  I saw two of the Hooded Merganser ducklings:

I also saw three Belted Kingfishers–and one flying above Bear Creek to the west–including this female:

There were dozens of Canada Geese, Mallards, and swallows, including this Barn Swallow:

I saw my first Yellow-breasted Chat of the season, as well as an American Kestrel flying overhead.  In the pond a giant carp thrashed around at the surface from time to time.
