On this Mother’s Day, Canada Goose mothers everywhere wish to remind you that every Canada Goose started out looking like this:



After marveling whether I’d really pulled over on the side of the road to take pictures of Canada Geese, I went to Gram’s this afternoon.  The Ospreys, which were always on the far side of the lake from us, were loud enough for her to hear them:


Back at home, a flash of yellow in the back yard caught my eye.  It was an American Redstart, the first of the season.  She was trying to get a drink of water by hovering above the bubbler:



And what Mother’s Day would be complete without a picture (albeit blurry) of a mama caring for her young?
